Find out more about Alexis' work-study assignments in the Auray Plast design office
What's your background?
After completing a BTS EPC at the Lycée de Questembert (Morbihan), I developed a keen interest in plastics and composite materials. This enthusiasm led me to enroll in an engineering school specializing in this field at IMT Nord Europe, in partnership with ISPA in Alençon. As this was an exclusively sandwich course, I joined Auray Plast, where I’m continuing my apprenticeship to become a plastics and composites engineer.
What are your projects?
During my first year, I worked on a variety of assignments covering different subjects. In my second year, I’m leading a more substantial project on SMED, a method for optimizing tool changeovers, with a view to applying it to the entire injection workshop. To achieve this, I am working closely with the production teams, actively involving them in the progress of this approach. I’m also fully committed to implementing the necessary actions.
What do you enjoy most about your assignments?
What I particularly appreciate is the diversity of my assignments and the freedom I have to manage them. This enables me to avoid routine and constantly discover new aspects of the business world, particularly in my field. What’s more, I benefit from solid supervision and real support from my tutor Frédéric Landais and my colleagues, which helps me to learn and develop my skills.
